Responsive Web Development

It's been 20 years since I first designed and developed a Web site for a client. Things continue to evolve and change, and it is important for all of us...designers, developers, and business owners...to keep up.

Please note that Google recommends webmasters follow the industry best practice of using responsive web design (RWD), namely "serving the same HTML for all devices and using only CSS media queries to decide the rendering on each device." Rather than have sites for different devices that serve up the same content, make use of a single content site that Google can index efficiently. It also helps solve the SEO problem of being penalized for hosting duplicate content.

Remember...technology changes fast. Computer, tablet, and smartphone manufacturers are constantly developing new products meant to outperform their competition. A responsive Web site built in HTML5, CSS3, and the latest jQuery frameworks can keep up with the latest devices, and should serve up your Web content correctly for some time to come.
