Instructor Bio
Eric Ladd is an experienced Internet developer with skills in Web-based application development, IIS and Apache server configuration and administration, and Web project management. He is a Macromedia Certified Advanced ColdFusion MX Developer and a Zend Certified PHP Developer. Mr. Ladd also develops sites and applications using Java Server Pages (JSP) and Perl.
Eric is also well-versed in client-side technologies and is a particular fan of Ajax development that integrates server-side programming, Document Object Model (DOM) scripting, XML and XSLT.
In addition to his development work, Mr. Ladd is frequently invited to conduct developer training workshops, is the author or co-author of seven Que books, and has made writing and editing contributions to several other titles.

Overview
DOM Scripting and Ajax Using jQuery teaches attendees to tap into the power of the freely-available jQuery library to simplify nearly any client-side scripting task. Attendees will learn how to write jQuery selectors to round up sets of DOM elements, how to use jQuery's many wrapped set methods to manipulate DOM elements, how to use the jQuery event model to set up event listeners and callback functions, how to manage Ajax requests with jQuery and how to extend jQuery with utility function and wrapped set method plugins.
jQuery Training Prerequisites
Attendees should be comfortable with basic JavaScript prior to taking this course.
